Double exposure

This means that two or more photographs are captured in one image. In analogue photography, the film transport is stopped so that two or more photos are exposed on one negative.

In digital photography, some cameras have a multiple exposure function that makes it possible to combine two or more exposures into one image. In this case, the data of all exposures are saved in one file. In addition – with my camera – the cross-fade method can be selected:

  • Additive (images are superimposed)
  • Average (like additive with automatic exposure correction)
  • Bright (exposure priority of the bright image areas)
  • Dark (exposure priority of the dark image areas)
